It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of exploring {anew land and forget about the most here basic needs like food. This often leads to crankiness, which can cause some less than gracious behavior.
I've definitely learned this the hard way on my last trip abroad. One moment I was excited about tasting a local delicacy, and the next I was shouting at my travel companions because I hadn't eaten in hours. It's not exactly a behavior I'm proud of, but it just goes to show that even the most social traveler can become a ravenous monster when they're hungry.
So, if you ever find yourself abroad and starting to feel grumpy, my advice is to take a break. It might be the difference between having a fantastic trip and one that ends with some regrettable moments.
